What’s in it?
Artist I works with internal art teams, to achieve diverse and engaging gameplay experiences for our players. You will be responsible for bringing characters and beautifully crafted worlds to life! You will work very closely with the Senior Art Leads, Game Designers, and other members of the game cross-functional teams where both your creativity and technical skills will help shape and improve our games.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to an efficient pipeline of 2D content.
- Develop game art assets, including UI elements, environments, props, characters, creatures, and marketing materials.
- Conceptualize the visual designs and express those ideas using illustrations and sketches.
- Create final in-game artwork and placeholder artwork.
- Execute against the chosen style and or reference.
- Capable of independently creating 2D/UI graphics and animations and integrating them into the Game engine.
- Produce captivating game art visuals based on provided concepts, briefs, and direction, encompassing various styles from exaggerated cartoon to realistic.
- Following the review process as designed for the project.
- Implement necessary changes and feedback as suggested by the leads or the team.
- Communicates effectively with other artists, leads, art director, and production teams to ensure alignment of visuals, timelines, and overall direction.
- Produce thumbnail sketches that depict gameplay mechanics and tactile controls.
- Create art in a wide range of styles from realistic to imaginary, from scratch to implementation in the game.
- Work closely with the development team to create 2D animations and effects for key gameplay events and interface requirements.
- Document process, and workflow whenever required.
- Capable of leading a team of 2d artists.
Requirements:
- Overall 12+ years and 6+ Years of Game industry exp.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating various styles of 2D game art.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Excellent English communication and documentation skills.
- Keen understanding of mobile games and broad video game culture.
- An attitude to self-organize and be a good team player.
- Understanding of form, shape, structure, and silhouette.
- Highly developed understanding of art, composition, light, color, and action.
- Good proficiency in technical aspects of game asset creation for mobile.
- Good understanding of Game stylization.
- Pick up new technical skills and concepts quickly.
- A good problem solver Works without close supervision but checks in frequently.
- Understands and interprets UX wireframes, and creates UI Art based on UX.
- Regularly reviews work with the Art Lead throughout production.
- Strong understanding of all aspects of concept art regarding illustration and design.
- Good software knowledge – Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, Spine, Unreal or Unity
- Understanding of cross-platform game asset development workflows.
- Proficient in character design and background design with a good sense of color palette
- Ability to work with a broad range of styles.
- Knowledge when it comes to Architecture and Human Anatomy is a strong plus.
- Fine arts background is a strong plus.
- Has a portfolio of digital art at least one game published on the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, or other distribution channels, which we can review.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
