The IT Support Specialist will be a hands-on role responsible for managing critical in-house IT-related needs of the company while coordinating with external contractors for specialized or routine tasks. This includes providing technical support, managing hardware and software inventory, ensuring network security, and supporting the overall IT infrastructure. This role requires a proactive, resourceful, and versatile individual capable of managing a wide range of IT responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  Technical Support:

  • Provide first-line support to employees for all IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
  • Resolve IT support requests efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to employee productivity.
  • Install, configure, and update software and hardware drivers as needed.
  • Generate sign-ins and set up new equipment for new hires during the onboarding process.

  System Administration:

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with company policies.
  • Update and maintain IT documentation, including system configurations and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to employees on the use of new software and hardware.

 Inventory and License Management:

  • Oversee the inventory management of all hardware and software assets.
  • Track and manage software licenses to ensure compliance and optimize usage.
  • Coordinate with vendors for the procurement of new hardware and software.

Coordination with IT Vendors/External Contractors:

  IT Infrastructure Management:

  • Coordinate with third-party contractors for the maintenance and management of the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, network devices, and cloud services.
  • Monitor network performance and work with contractors to implement necessary measures to ensure reliability and security.
  • Perform regular backups and recovery operations to safeguard company data with contractor support.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and security protocols with assistance from external experts.

Project Support:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of IT-related projects, ensuring timely completion with contractor collaboration.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and productivity, with input from external consultants.

 Proactive Maintenance:

  • Coordinate with contractors to perform regular maintenance and updates to all IT systems to prevent issues.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect against cyber threats with external security consultants.

Skill Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT support and systems maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of network management, server administration, and cloud services.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with office productivity tools and IT management software.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Experience in managing IT budgets and procurement processes is a plus.
