What’s in it?
As Technical Artist, you work with internal art teams, to achieve diverse and engaging gameplay experiences for our players. You will be responsible for bringing characters and beautifully crafted worlds to life! You will work very closely with the Art Lead/Art Director, Game Designers, and other members of the game cross-functional teams, and your creativity and technical skills will help shape and improve our games.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the project’s technical requirements.
- Troubleshoot any art and tech issues from a creative and technical standpoint.
- Identify opportunities for production efficiencies and pipeline issues.
- Recommend and advocate for improvements when appropriate.
- Collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers to develop and optimize workflows.
- Build new tools and write necessary scripts to facilitate and bridge art and engineering efforts.
- Support the development and maintenance of in-house tools and pipelines.
- Optimize game assets and ensure they meet performance and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to art production.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the art team.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in game development.
Requirements:
- 6+ experience in game development as a tech artist.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Art, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Technical Artist in the game industry.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, MEL, or C#.
- Strong understanding of 3D and 2D art and animation workflows.
- Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with shader development and optimization.
- Knowledge of performance profiling and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
